This event also marked the beginning of the month long Writer's Centre Kingston exhibition at Museum of Futures, entitled Scribbling and Scrawling, which runs FEB 22ND TO MARCH 21ST 2018. About the speakers : Stella Duffy is an award-winning writer with over sixty-five short stories, fourteen plays written and devised, and fifteen novels published in fifteen languages. She has twice won the CWA Short Story Dagger and twice won Stonewall Writer of the Year. She regularly writes and speaks on LGBTQI, feminist, inclusion and diversity issues. Her latest novel The Hidden Room was published by Virago in 2017. Stella has also worked in theatre for over thirty-five years as an actor, director, playwright, and facilitator. She is the founder and Co-Director of the Fun Palaces campaign for cultural democracy, supporting local people to create their own public events using arts, science, craft, tech and digital as a catalyst for community-building. Stella was born in London, grew up in Aotearoa/New Zealand and has lived back in London since 1986. She was awarded the OBE for services to the Arts in the Queen’s Birthday honours 2016 .
