A LITERARY EVENT ON THE THEME OF MYTHOLOGISING
WITH SPEAKERS MAX PORTER, WINSOME PINNOCK and Catherine humble

The theme for this event was Mythologising. Three remarkable speakers each presented new pieces of literature shaped for a memorable night in Kingston. The event was opened with a reading from Marcia Knight Latter, who launched her debut publication with the Writers’ Centre Kingston Sampson Low series.

On the guest speaker : Max Porter is Editorial Director at Granta Books where his authors include Han Kang, Eleanor Catton, Ben Marcus, Rebecca Solnit and Sarah Moss. His first novel, Grief Is the Thing with Feathers won the Sunday Times/Peter, Fraser + Dunlop Young Writer of the Year, the International Dylan Thomas Prize, the Europese Literatuurprijs and the BAMB Readers’ Award and was shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Award and the Goldsmiths Prize. It has been sold in thirty territories. Complicité and Wayward’s production of Grief Is the Thing with Feathers directed by Enda Walsh and starring Cillian Murphy opened in Dublin in March 2018 and will tour in 2019.
