A LITERARY EVENT ON THE THEME of PURPOSE WITH Joe Dunthorne & Éadaoin Agnew

The theme for this event was Purpose.

The speakers responded with a new piece of literature / informal talk responding to the theme suggested by visiting speaker Joe Dunthorne in an event held within the Penrhyn Road Campus, at Kingston University.

This event was opened with short new collaborative texts made especially for the night, from students and alumni of Kingston University and writers local to the Centre, Helena Artus & Sophia Field and Matt Congdon & Jamie Toy,

On the speakers : Joe Dunthorne’s first novel, Submarine, was translated into sixteen languages and adapted into an award-winning film by Richard Ayoade. His second, Wild Abandon, won the 2012 Encore Prize. His latest is The Adulterants. His first collection of poems, O Positive, will be published by Faber & Faber next year. He lives in London.
